REVIEW
Agatha Christie and her books are the reason I'm such a fan of Crime Fiction and has led to me becoming a Crime Fiction book blogger. Any opportunity to read and review anything Christie related, I am always front of the queue! The Official Agatha Christie Puzzle Book is the best I've seen in terms of the sheer variety of puzzles. This is definitely not a puzzle book you will get bored of doing and give up after a few pages. There are crosswords, word searches, codes to decipher, letters to read and interpret, codewords, number puzzles, pictures to piece together, hieroglyphics and many more types of puzzles that I can't even name!
There are 100 puzzles in the book and I haven't completed them all just yet (still working on a few tricky ones!), but what I really enjoyed was getting input from other people to help and working through the puzzles together. Reading is a passion of mine but it's obviously a solitary hobby so the fact that this book was something I could share with others made it so much more entertaining. It's the perfect activity to do over the Christmas holidays when you have a bit more time and lots of people around to collaborate on the puzzles. I've never been the best at crosswords so I had to call in the cavalry for help with those pages, and I did find some puzzles easier than others but that's what's great about the selection.
Even though this book is not linked to one Christie story or character in particular, it certainly has the Christie vibe. The style and content, little passages to explain the puzzles, and the puzzles themselves all have some kind of reference to one the many stories and characters she created.
I am going to save the rest of these puzzles for the holidays and include them in my usual re-watch of Hercule Poirot's Christmas and I've already purchased an extra copy as a gift for another Poirot fan this Christmas. An easy 5 stars
